Jorgedacruz - Alice in the Storm-Charcoal on paper - 80x40cm, Berlin 2025

I did not have explanations. I had a weight. So I drew.

This drawing is for Alice. Alice disappeared, and with that disappearance came something that could not be placed anywhere else. Drawing was not a project, nor a decision. It was simply the only way I knew how to stay close, to remain present without answers. This work does not explain anything. It is an homage, an elegy — a way of keeping her near without turning her into a narrative.

Alice stands there, in the pale North, with her arms open.

We’re going to miss you, Alice.
Have a nice journey.

Jorge
