After Cana — Limited Edition Print
Jorge da Cruz
The banquet continues. The water rises.
In After Cana, Jorge da Cruz revisits Paolo Veronese’s The Wedding at Cana, introducing a flood into the Renaissance celebration. Water spreads across the patterned floor while guests remain absorbed in conversation, music and raised glasses. The drawing holds this uneasy moment: the world is changing, and the party carries on.
This limited edition reproduction brings the original charcoal drawing into a smaller format, carrying its dense blacks, delicate greys and open passages of white paper into a work to live with and return to.
The original drawing was acquired by the Enter Foundation in 2016.
Format: DIN A1 · 59.4 × 84.1 cm
Original work: Charcoal on paper, 240 × 300 cm, assembled from sixteen sheets.
